It Girl of the Moment...Olivia Palermo!

Her hair, her boyfriend, her style.....Ugh! I'm sooo jealous!

Remind me (when I'm rich and famous and walking to a Paris Haute Couture Show)
to wear my lace-up gold stilletos! Ok?

Isn't that cool, man? Marc Jacobs did part of his Spring/Summer 2012 collection on a freakin carousel!! And the clothes were even more amazing!

DIY Day Project #3: Fix a Quirky Thrift Find!

Yesterday, my dad and I went downtown and stopped in some unique-looking thrift stores. We were just looking for fun, but I ended up buying a cool pair of patched capris! (they were only $2.71!) They were amazing, but , as many thrifted items have, it had a hole. Today I decided to fix them up to their deserved wearable condition!

1.) Look for any holes, rips, or missing parts to a thrifted item. Pin it to a dress form (mine is made out of cheetah-print duct tape-click here for tutorial) to get a better look at a garment.
2.) Pin patches onto garment as needed.
3.) Your cat may offer you some help once they see all of the thread you'll be dealing with...

This is my mancoon cat, Ariel! Isn't she cute?
4.) Sew what? Sew it!
5.) After fixing anything and everything the thrifted piece needed, slip it on and strut your stuff! Give your new clothing friend a new exciting life!

Alright, that's all I've got for today! I hope you enjoyed my projects! Get inspired and DIY!! :)

DIY Day Project #2: Fashion Mood Board

I've always loved looking at pictures in magazines and newspapers-especially Seventeen, Teen Vouge, and NY Times Styles. Today, for my second DIY project I decided to make my own mood board! :)

1.) Look through your favorite magazines, and newspapers and cut out anything that inspires you or if its just something that you really like.

2.) Arrange the pictures into different formations untill you find one that compliments all of the pictures.
3.) Find a scrap piece of cardboard and tape the pictures onto it. (I used a flattened Eggo Waffle Box!) You may need to slightly change the formation you made in the last step so that it all fits!

4.) Find a good place to hang the moodboard and enjoy! Now you have your own personal fashion mood board!

DIY Day Project #1: Hair!

DIY Day is something I hope to do at least once a month because its really fun and I love making things for myself more than I do buying them. You feel a great sense of achievement, and what you want to make/fix turns out exactly the way you want it. I hope my three DIY Day Projects inspire you (and make you happy)-comment on this and let me know what you diy'ed! :)

My first project is....HAIR! I decided to do a quick how-to on one of my favorite curly & girly (lol that rhymes!) hairstyles! Enjoy!

1.) After brushing out hair, dry it.

2.) Curl the ends of the hair and brush out.

3.) Twist hair into about 2" sections and pin back with bobby pins or clips. Let sit for 5-10 min.
4.) Unravel twists and spray with hair spray! All done!
