I always love being able to discover new designers that aren't always the most popular and that really catch my attention with some signature pieces! I love all of the mint, and coral hues for spring 2013 as well as how unique each of the collections are. Stay happy and have a good week! :)



DIY: Tie a Cute Scarf!

With fall coming up and everything, I thought it might be fun to do a quick tutorial on one of my recently discovered ways of tying a scarf! And even better, I found a super cute one on sale at Charming Charlie's :)

 
 
1.) Place the scarf of your choice (longer is better!) around your neck.

2.) Pull one end of the scarf down making one end higher than the other.
3.) Take the longer of the two ends and throw it over your shoulder.
4.) Continue the end over your shoulder to make one loop.
5.) Loop the same end over your shoulder again.
6.) Loosen the two loops you just made as needed-don't strangle yourself!
7.) Take the end you've been dealing with this whole time and tuck it in between the first and second loops around your neck.
8.) Pull it through.
9.) Finish the look off by tying the two ends together in a knot or bow (depending on how much scarf you have left) and adjust accordingly! :)



I hope you enjoy trying out this pretty simple way of tying your scarf. Its nice to mix things up once in a while, and its even better if you can try something new without having to buy it! Let me know how you styled this scarf look! :)

Hydrangeas of Cape Cod

This summer my family and I visited one of the East Coast's most quaint and fun places ever-Cape Cod, MA, of course! We got to enjoy 14 days of ice-cream, lobster, salty waves, and shopping! (notice how the first two things i mentioned were food!) Overall, I thought it was a great way to relax, and reconnect with our grandparents. This summer, I found a new interest in all of the hydrangea flowers all over the Cape. Apparently, Cape Cod is sort of famous for them! Anyways, I totally fell in love with the look of them, and what makes them even more unique is that their color is different based on the acidity of the soil! Nerdy biology moment! :) So, I've pretty much decided that these will be the flowers I will use in my wedding, and I hope you enjoy all of the flowers I took pictures of as much as I do!

Amp Up Your PBJ!


Hey guys! So today I went shopping with my mom, and then came home with a strong yearning for PBJ. But this time, I felt a little creative and wanted to, well, make an even yummier PBJ! :) I experimented with some stuff we had around the kitchen, and came up with a tasty treat to soothe my hunger. Low and behold, I now present to you the Extreme Yummy Super Duper Crunchy PBJ!! The recipe is as follows:

-2 slices of whole wheat bread
-JIF Peanut Butter (creamy, not crunchy)
-Smucker's Red Raspberry Preserves (Or jam of your choice)
-1 banana (ripe or rotten, doesn't matter!)
-Your favorite honey
-About 1/4 cup of Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal




 Step 1: Spread a generous helping of JIF PB on both slices of bread. Don't be shy when doing this-peanut butter is the most important stuff in any PBJ and in life! When in doubt, add more!

Step 2: Let your dog(s)/cat/brother lick the knife! :) After they're done, be sure to rinse it thouroughly!


Step 3: Spread raspberry jelly on top of only one of the slices of bread.
Step 4: OK, this time you can lick the knife! Yummy! 

Step 5: Slice the banana (yes, I know mine looks gross-I actually prefer them squishy for PBJs!). Then, add as many slices as your heart desires onto the slice with the jelly on it.


Step 6: Add about 1/4 cup (or just a handful) of the Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal to the side with just peanut butter.
Step 7: Now, squeeze some honey over the Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal to taste!

Step 8: The moment of truth is upon you in the current position you have brought yourself to in this journey to create amazingness between two boring pieces of bread.....brace yourself, do 3 1/2 jumping jacks, and put the pieces together!

 *Dramatic sound effects play*
Ta-da! You did it! Now, simply slice (or not) and eat! :P

Colorado Chic

Just some pictures from today! We went to our friends' wedding and it was absolutely gorgeous. It was very simple yet elegant and the way everything worked out really reminded me personally that all it takes to have a special moment, like getting married for instance, is your loved ones. Now, that mind sound really cheesy but when you think about it, you don't need a huge cake or super fancy dress! Anyways (sorry getting side tracked), when we got back I wanted to do a quick post about the unique Coloradan style, so here it is! I find it so interesting to see how people dress based on the way they live and where they live-it was something my mom brought up today that I've been thinking about! Colorado in general, as the way my mom puts it, is definitley more relaxed style-wise but we can clean up pretty well, too! This whole idea of a state-based style made me want to create a spin on the cowgirl/western-stereotype and glam it up with some colorful short and sparkly french-tip nails (from the wedding :) ).  The jean shirt I'm wearing is from Miley Cyrus's new brand but I got it at Plato's Closet, and my shorts are from Target! Enjoy! :)

We got a PUPPY!!

So we had been thinking about adopting a new pup for our family for a while....last week or so my mom's friend showed us an ad in the newspaper for Bernese/Pyrnese mixes and, we ended up getting one last night! She is absolutely precious and we love her sooo much! When we got her last night, she was super muddy because the breeder's property was pretty much pure dirt. :) It was a very long car ride home, but I hung out with her in the back of the car the whole way. We gave her two baths last night, and a good brushing today and now she looks like a sweet little fuzzball! Anyways, shes 3/4 Bernese and 1/4 Pyrneese and about 3 months old! Her coloring is actually really cool because her mom was white, her dad was black, and she turned out to be cinnamon colored! We decided to name her Moushka (not sure exactly how we're going to spell it, though) because originially I thought that was Yves Saint Laurent's dog, but it was actually Mujik! Either way, the name stuck and fits her perfectly. It's also really funny because her mom's name is Verushka! I think we should call her Moo for short! How sweet! Enjoy your daily dose of cuteness....
